Breaking News! Cat’s Interview- Story of Ike April Issue

The last two weeks were awesome! We had a blast while Ike was gone to obedience school. We met Ike a long time ago when he moved into the next door apartment. Ever since then he has ruined our lives! I’m sick and tired of him. At midday in March we heard Mrs. Larue on the phone talking to the warden. She said Ike needed some obedience. Since he was gone there have been letters in the mail from him. I wish I knew what they said. Mrs. Larue grew tired of the sad letters and decided to set Ike to go back home. The last letter she was sent said he was going to escape. He did, and the first thing Ike saw was Mrs. Larue do was almost got ran over by a truck! Ike saved her, also saving the day. Everyone said he was a hero. Almost everyone anyway…Only if he stayed there and learned his lesson-Don’t mess with cats!

Dueling Mandates in Yellowstone

Bison at Yellowstone Park are endangered.  One reason this is because the bison catch the brucellosis disease and die. The winters are harsh there and the bison migrate to stay warm. How do you manage Yellowstone bison?  I chose the solution about injecting the bison with the brucellosis disease. There are pros and cons to this to this solution. First of all, the cons, it would take weeks to gather all the bison from the park. You may run out of the vaccine. That is a problem because by the time you get more vaccine’s, some of the other bison may already have the disease. When you inject the bison you may scare them or harm them if you inject it wrong. That’s also why you need doctor or vet that is trained to do that. Now time for the pros. Of course; if you inject them correctly you that would prevent the disease. Another reason that this is good is the population would be higher than just letting them die. Also their babies would be much healthier and would not be born with the brucellosis disease.

R. J. Palacio

R. J. Palacio was pretty normal growing up. She was not rich or poor, but middle class. She was a Girl Scout just like me. But unlike each other, she lives in New York and I live in Texas. Before she wrote books, she was an Art Director. When she decided to write books, her bestseller was Wonder. Her characteristics are that she is tall and has dark hair. The moral of the book is to spread kindness. Her personality is unique and she is trustworthy. She is also very loyal and kind. She is also thoughtful. Today people all over the U. S. know R. J. Palacio for that reason.

Women in the Revolution

A woman in the revolution is Captain Molly.  She was sent to a camp for safety.  She also became the leader of the camp; or a captain. Molly was brave when war came! When the British attacked men died and she stepped up to be a captain.

Another woman is Sibyl Ludington.  She was also very brave in her actions.  But, unlike Molly, pretended to have an army preparing to fight when tori’s planned a sneak attack.  She was very successful with that.  Sibyl had help from her friends and family.

One more woman is Deborah Samson.  Deborah was also good at what she did.  She helped get independence once and for all.

How I Served Martin Luther King Jr.

I served MLK by helping my mom clean the house.  But instead of my normal chores, I helped do other things without being asked.  Like making my bed in the morning when I get, or instead of playing, I clean my room.  I still do things for fun though, like watching TV.  You don’t have to use the whole day for service.  But at least help others like your parents, friends, or people that you don’t even know.  Because MLK didn’t get a day off, it’s not honor unless do something in honor, kindness, loving, no fighting, and just peaceful protest.  Here are some things to do on MLK day: take out the trash, do the dishes, clean your room, or just say something kind to someone else.
